the Differences between Ricoh G5, G6, G5S and G5I heads

2. the Differences in head structure
Rioch G5 head adopts a connected structure, the head and the head cable are connected together, can not be divided;
Roicoh G6, G5S, G5I heads use the independent structure, these heads and their head cables can be separated.
Because of such a structure, the maintenance cost for Ricoh G5 heads is higher. If the head cable broken, you have nto change all the head and cables, and other heads just need change the head cables.
3. Differences in Printing Precision
Ricoh G5 head is 7PL,
Ricoh G6 head is 5PL,
Ricoh G5I head is 3.5PL,
Ricoh G5S headis 2.5PL.
The PL number is smaller, the printing precision of this head is higher, and the printed pictures have higher resolution and more delicate.
So for printing precision, G5S＞G5I ＞ G6＞G5. G5S is best.
4. the Differences in Printing Speed
For the printing speed, G6＞G5=G5S＞G5I.
For UV flatbed printer with CMYK+W,
The speed of Ricoh G6 head is fastest. It is around 12-15m²/h.
The speed of Ricoh G5 head is around 10-12m²/h
The speed of Ricoh G5S head is same speed as G5 head.
The speed of Ricoh G5I head is around 5-8m²/h.
5. the Differences in Drop Height Printing
For Drop height printing, G5I and G6 and G5 is better. G5S cannot do drop height printing.
So G5I/G6 /G5 can print the irregular object., but G5S cannot print it, it just can print flat material.
The G5i is best, the printing drop height is around 3cm.
For G6 /G5 , the printing drop height is around 2cm.
6. the Differences in Head Life
For the head life, G6 and G5 is best, if the heads can be maintained very well, it has around 5 years of life.
G5S is the newer head.Although offical data of its life is 2-3 year, but the machines with G5S are also new, it just have around 2 years of history. sp its life we can said it at most 2 years of life, and it still need time to test.
The G5i head, the life is around 6 mohth to 1 year.
7. the Differences in Head Costing
G5S head is around $2600/pcs,
G6 head is around $1700/pcs,
G5 head is around $1600/pcs,
G5i head is around $1300/pcs.
For CMYK, G6/G5/G5S needs 2 headS, 1 head has 2 color.
G5I just needs 1 head, it is 1 head for 4 color.
8. the Ink Compatibility and the Cost of the corresponding UV ink
G6 and G5 UV ink is same, the ink costing is same.
G5I UV ink is special G5I UV ink, the price is higher a little as G6 &G5.
G5S UV ink is special G5S UV ink, but the price is twice of G6 &G5.

Printing Precision: G5S＞G5I＞G6＞G5
Printing Speed: G6＞G5=G5S＞G5I

Professional Advice:
1. If you want to print flatbed materials and the irregular object, and it hasfaster speed.UV printers with Ricoh G5/ G6 heads will be suggested. and UV printers with G6 is more popular in China now. For G6 speed and precision is better and head is easier to maintain.
2. If you want to print the irregular objects specially,but the precision request is higher,normmaly it uses Ricoh G5I heads. Cylinder UV printers for stainless steel bottles printing use Ricoh G5I heads more.
3. If you just need high precision printing, and industry head, its miantaince is also easy, it is suggested that the UV printers use Ricoh G5S heads, but the head costing and ink costing is more expensive, and it just can print flat materials.
In China, most of our customers use UV flatbed printers with Ricoh G5S heads is special for the printing of Acrylic.
